This notification informs all concerned about the registration and examination formalities for the 1st and 2nd semesters of undergraduate programs in Humanities and Social Sciences under the National Education Policy 2020. This applies to students pursuing their degrees in private mode and does not include programs with practical components.

Eligibility:
- Candidates must have successfully passed their 10+2 examination or an equivalent qualification.
Registration Process:
- Obtain Forms:
- Download the registration cum examination form and instructions from the official Kashmir University website (https://www.kashmiruniversity.net/) under the “Students Registration” tab.
- Online Submission:
- Submit the form online using your board registration number. This can only be done once for each candidate.
- Important:
- Accurately enter your Board Registration Number (as per your 12th-grade mark sheet). Incorrect entries may lead to form cancellation.
- Carefully select your district.
- Fee Payment:
- After online submission, check your “MyFormStatus (Private Mode)” page on the University website for fee payment details.
- Log in using your Board Registration Number and Form Number.
- Pay the prescribed fee online through the available payment gateway (Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking).
- Note: Direct online transfers to the University account are not accepted.
- Fee Exemptions:
- Physically challenged and orphan students are exempt from the examination fee but must still pay the registration and allied fees.
- Required certificates from competent authorities must be submitted to the Assistant Registrar, Registration for verification.
- If a certificate is found to be invalid, the full fee will be charged along with applicable penalties.
- Document Submission:
- Submit the downloaded Registration form along with the following original documents to the Registration Section, University of Kashmir:
- Matriculation Marks/Qualification Certificate
- Higher Secondary Part II Marks Certificate
- Discharge Certificate from the last institution attended
- Migration certificate with Eligibility form and a fee of Rs. 100/- deposited in the University Chest (where applicable)
- Disability/Orphan Certificate (if applicable)

- Additional Charges:
- Hot & Cold charges (Rs. 25/-) and Examination Management charges (Rs. 12/-) are payable to the respective college for each semester.
- A fee of Rs. 200/- per semester is applicable for Skill Enhancement courses, payable to the allotted college.
Important Notes:
- Special Case: The current registration process is considered a special case and may be subject to change.
- Practical Components: Students cannot opt for subjects with practical/lab work, map work, surveying, or fieldwork.
- Subject Changes: Subject choices cannot be changed after the registration/examination form submission deadline.
- Examination Centers: Examination centers will be allotted based on the candidate’s native district.
- Re-registration: Students already registered with the University (either privately or regularly) who wish to pursue studies under NEP 2020 are eligible for re-registration. They must apply for cancellation of their previous admission and examination (if applicable). These students are exempt from the University Registration Fee of Rs. 300/-.
- Subject Choices: Candidates must select the following subjects during registration:
- Major Subject: From subject group I-V
- Minor Subject: From subject groups I-VI, excluding the group of the chosen major subject
- Two Multidisciplinary Subjects: One for each of the 1st and 2nd semesters, different from the major/minor subjects
- Ability Enhancement Courses: One for each of the 1st and 2nd semesters
- Value Added Courses: Two for each of the 1st and 2nd semesters
- One Skill Enhancement Course Vertical: In consultation with the nearest college selected as the examination center
